Boston Celtics jerseys

There are a large amount of people who think the Celts will contend for a playoff spot this year.  I am not one of those people.  Over the course of the last few years and especially last year, the Celtics were an elite, top 3 defensive team in the league when KG was on the floor and a middle of the road or worse team when he was off the floor.  Well…he’s going to be permanently off the floor for the Celtics now.  Now granted, these on/off floor stats can be a little misleading because a lot of that can just depend on how bad the player than replaces KG is.  Well the people replacing KG now are Jared Sullinger, Kris Humphries, Fab Melo and Kelly Olynyk.  Those are not good defenders.  At all. Fab can block some shots (if he can even get on the floor) but that’s it.  I’ll have a more in depth Celtics preview as always when we get closer to the season, but I think that A. they’re going to be bad and B. if you’re a Celtics fan you should want them to be bad this year.
